Theory Test

What is the theory test?

The driving theory test checks that you understand road rules and can recognise danger early. You must pass it before you can take your practical driving test.

The test is run by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

What does the theory test include?

The theory test has two parts:

  1. Multiple-choice questions

  2. Hazard perception test

  3.

You must pass both parts to pass overall.
